Two Days in Krakow: The Perfect Weekend

Enough time to go deeper — Old Town, Kazimierz, and a day trip.

DAY 1 — OLD TOWN & KAZIMIERZ

9:00 AM — Main Market Square. Coffee at Charlotte or Cafe Camelot, then explore the Cloth Hall (souvenirs ground floor, paintings upstairs) and listen for the Hejnal trumpet call.

10:30 AM — St. Mary's Basilica to see the Veit Stoss altarpiece. Then the Rynek Underground Museum (book ahead).

12:00 PM — Walk the Royal Road (Grodzka Street) to Wawel Hill. Castle courtyard, cathedral, dragon.

1:30 PM — Lunch in Kazimierz. Recommendations: Starka (Polish with vodka flights), Nolio (Mediterranean), or zapiekanka at Plac Nowy.

2:30 PM — Explore Kazimierz on foot: Ulica Szeroka, Remuh Synagogue, Galicia Jewish Museum, street art on Ulica Jozefa.

5:00 PM — Sunset from the Krakus Mound in Podgorze (20-minute walk from Kazimierz via the Bernatka footbridge).

7:00 PM — Dinner at Pod Aniolami (grilled meats in a medieval cellar) or Zielona Kuchnia (vegetarian).

9:00 PM — Kazimierz bar crawl: Alchemia, Bania Luka, Mercy Brown speakeasy.

DAY 2 — MUSEUM + DAY TRIP

9:00 AM — Schindler's Factory (book online, allow 2 hours).

11:30 AM — MOCAK contemporary art museum (next door, free on Tuesdays).

1:00 PM — Quick lunch, then take the bus/train to Wieliczka Salt Mine (1 hour including travel). Tour takes 2-3 hours.

OR: Day trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial (organized tour or bus, 6-7 hours round trip).

Evening — Return to Krakow for farewell dinner at Wierzynek (historic) or Bottiglieria 1881 (Michelin-starred).
