The 48-Hour Krakow Weekend: Friday to Sunday

Arriving Friday evening, leaving Sunday night — the optimized weekend trip.

FRIDAY EVENING (Arrive ~6 PM)

Check into your hotel, drop bags, and head straight to the Main Market Square for your first glimpse. Walk the illuminated square, taking in St. Mary's Basilica and the Cloth Hall lit up against the night sky.

Dinner: Miod Malina (Polish-Italian, Old Town) or Starka (Polish with vodka flights, Kazimierz). After dinner, drinks at Alchemia or a walk along the Vistula boulevards.

SATURDAY (Full Day)

9:00 AM — Breakfast at Charlotte. Then the Main Square, St. Mary's Basilica (Veit Stoss altarpiece), and Rynek Underground Museum.

12:00 PM — Walk the Royal Road to Wawel Castle. Cathedral, courtyard, Dragon's Den.

1:30 PM — Lunch: zapiekanka at Plac Nowy (budget) or Nolio (sit-down).

2:30 PM — Kazimierz exploration: Remuh Synagogue, Ulica Jozefa, vintage shops, street art.

4:00 PM — Cross to Podgorze: Ghetto Heroes Square, then Schindler's Factory (book tickets in advance!).

6:30 PM — Krakus Mound for sunset.

8:00 PM — Dinner: Pod Aniolami (medieval cellar) or Bottiglieria 1881 (splurge).

10:00 PM — Kazimierz nightlife: Bania Luka cocktails, Omerta craft beer, Pijalnia Wodki for shots.

SUNDAY

9:00 AM — Stary Kleparz market (if open) or a relaxed breakfast. National Museum or Czartoryski Museum.

12:00 PM — Light lunch, then bus/train to Wieliczka Salt Mine (2.5 hours including travel and tour).

4:00 PM — Return to Krakow. Final stroll through the Planty park ring, last-minute souvenir shopping.

6:00 PM — Farewell dinner at a spot you passed yesterday and wished you'd tried.
