Poles love dogs, and Krakow reflects this. You'll see dogs in restaurants, cafes, parks, and even some shops. If you're traveling with a pet (or just want to pet some), here's the guide.
DOG-FRIENDLY SPACES: the Planty park ring is perfect for dog walks — wide paths, green spaces, and plenty of other dogs to socialize with. Blonia Meadow is the city's biggest off-leash paradise — 48 hectares of grass where dogs run free. The Vistula boulevards are popular for evening dog walks.
DOG-FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS: many Krakow restaurants welcome dogs, especially those with outdoor terraces. Forum Przestrzenie is extremely dog-friendly (outdoor space, water bowls provided). Charlotte's terrace, Dynia Resto Bar, and most Kazimierz bar terraces welcome dogs. Some restaurants provide dog menus — yes, really.
DOG-FRIENDLY TRANSPORT: dogs ride free on Krakow public transport (trams and buses) — they should be leashed and muzzled (regulation, loosely enforced for small dogs). Bolt accepts dogs at the driver's discretion.
DOG PARKS: dedicated fenced dog parks exist in Jordan's Park, Blonia, and several neighborhood parks. The Wolski Forest is excellent for off-leash hiking with your dog.
PRACTICAL: pet supply shops (Kakadu, Maxi Zoo) are in most shopping areas. Emergency veterinary clinics operate 24/7 — Klinika Weterynaryjna on Ul. Rydlowska is well-reviewed. EU pet passports are required for cross-border travel.
