Pimiento Argentinian Steak

Old Town

Premium South American steaks grilled to perfection in a masculine, leather-and-wood interior. The dry-aged ribeye with chimichurri is the signature dish.

For carnivores who take their beef seriously, this Old Town steakhouse brings the soul of the Argentine pampas to the heart of Krakow — and does it with remarkable conviction.

History & Background

Pimiento arrived in Krakow as part of a broader wave of quality South American dining concepts that reshaped the city's restaurant scene in the 2010s. In a city better known for pierogi and żurek, Pimiento carved out a confident niche by committing fully to the Argentinian steakhouse tradition — no compromises, no fusion distractions. The concept is rooted in the gaucho philosophy: premium cuts, live fire, and wine worth lingering over. It has since become one of the few places in Poland where serious steak enthusiasts feel genuinely at home.

What to Expect

Step inside and the aesthetic does the talking immediately — dark leather banquettes, warm wood paneling, and the kind of dim, amber lighting that makes a glass of Malbec look cinematic. This is a deliberately masculine space, intimate without feeling cramped. The menu centers on dry-aged cuts, with the ribeye served with house-made chimichurri standing as the undisputed signature. Aging is taken seriously here — expect deep, complex beef flavor that supermarket steaks simply cannot replicate. The wine list leans heavily Argentinian, with solid representation from Mendoza producers across multiple price points. Budget roughly 150–250 PLN per person for a full dinner with wine. Set aside a full evening — this is not a place to rush.

Insider Tip

Skip the default table wine and ask your server specifically about small-producer Malbecs that don't appear prominently on the printed list. The staff genuinely knows their cellar and, if you express real interest, will often pour you something exceptional that's reserved for guests who ask. Also worth knowing: weekday evenings before 7pm are significantly quieter than weekends, when the Old Town crowds fill every table. Arriving early on a Tuesday or Wednesday gives you the full experience — attentive service, no noise competition — without needing a reservation made weeks in advance.
